Move Numero Dos: 2+ years later...

See, I keep my promises.  Just when we are getting around to putting it on the market, over two years later, I finally update the blog with pics of our latest home.  Condo 422, home to a carefree, maintenance free lifestyle. Seriously it has been like being back in college again.  All we have to do is clean, buy groceries, do the laundry, and enjoy cocktail hour on the balcony.  It has been pretty awesome.  But this summer the itch started... We miss our own green space and as crazy as it sounds house projects!  There is only so much you can do to a brand new, never lived in condo and we have pretty much done it... upgrades galore, 10' paint jobs, backsplash, modern decor, even a custom murphy bed!  We tried it and has been a pretty good ride, but let's face it, we are not condo people!  No wonder the dog has been looking at us so strangely the past 3 years...  I have a feeling we will be missing this lifestyle in the not so distance future... Bring on the house!

And we're back!!

Whoa! We went pretty dark there for awhile but after spending 20 minutes trying to remember what this blog was even called and the last 75 reading old posts, my goofy grin told me this thing needs a come back! So here we go... Starting with a current pic of us in year SIX.

Matt's Eternal quest to get me to like the State Fair

For two years in a row now I have agreed to tag along with Matt as he does his annual trip to the State Fair. this is huge! We have know each other for uhhh... 9! years now and prior to the previous two years our trips together consisted of a whopping zero. I just don't get it... the concept of the MN state fair does not register with my idea of a fun filled day. Try as he may I am not sure he will ever be successful on this one. Now a county fair, a true-county fair, I'm down. But this fried food, fat, smelly festival is usually the last thing I want to do. Matt on the other hand LOVES it............ as evidence.....
How can you not love him? and all his State Fair infatuation?

Sittin in the morning sun...

Now this, this can make a girl happy. It doesn't take much. Matt may argue with that one. but for real. one fav blanket, check. a big steaming cup of Joe, check. urban livin', check. tunes, tunes that make your heart dance, check. electronics that I can't live without, check. and best of all MAY! and SUNSHINE! This is starting out to be a best day ever. It is also practice day #1. so good so far....

At some point I will get around to updating on move numero dos. But today, today will be spent sittin' in the morning sun, watchin' the clouds roll on by....

Move Numero Uno

Still playing catch up here..... we got brave and put our house on the market in June. Matt extended his resume to include realtor via the for sale by owner route. We had no idea how it would go, all I knew is that we had to escape our teenage next door neighbor before I lost my mind. And so we played the game, we cleaned and made the house smell amazing. We made signs and strategically placed them around the area. And then we sat and waited... my weekends were spent in the park with Sonny while Matt played open house. In three short weeks it was SOLD! and then came the oh shit moment... where are we going to live? Downtown baby! It took a little convincing and few twists of the arm but one place with 15' ceilings and wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows took care of it. Matt was sold. And so we moved "temporarily" into a condo downtown. No way was Matt going to like it, no way was Matt going to stay longer than six months. We would have another house in the 'Minneapolis suburbs' before too long....
From..... To.....

Us...Five! Five-a-Live!

Seriously. five. it's a big number. Okay. this year, there's no tellin', well maybe some tellin' since it's already May... Here's what I do know and the rest well it's all a big ole' question mark. Year five will inevitably bring change, career change! yay! attitude change! yay! I've been waiting. it's finally here. now Raybill... Matt scored our first investment property. and a tv show to boot (note: tv show used generously). watch for it peeps. It's going to be huge ;)

Us... cuatro ano

I really have no idea where this year will lead us. All starts with our biggest vacation yet... Thailand. And then from there who knows? We have (or should I say I have) been searching for a project maybe landlords, maybe a new fantastic job, maybe entrepuer, maybe a new house. Crystal ball anyone?

Us... On to year three.

Most exciting thing in our life... No more school! No more school! Well at least for me. Matt may think differently, like I told him vacation is on for me, over for him ;) Not quite sure how I will fill my time yet, we all know I don't do relaxation well, and the first two weeks have been interesting, a visit to NYC, re-sodding the lawn for the second time, planting the garden, a craiglist's garage sale, etc.

Us... Year 2

Year 2 of marriage. As Matt would say this is the year of being "young professionals"... Matt went independent in August and we are trying to figure out how to adjust to "tax-free" checks. It makes me a little nervous but Matt, the ever adivsor, says it is just fine. I just started my new job at ConAgra Foods, quite a change from industrial automation. Oh and there's school... never ending school. Someday, I will be done, right? With the house projects near completion, Matt traded smoking for a new boat. (I think he cheats by having a beer just to justify a smoke, but I secretly cannot bring myself to sell the boat - Sonny likes it too much) And then there is Sonny, 100 pounds and spoiled. He continues to rule the house.
